2024 Goals
I’ve been on a self-improvement journey, and these are the goals I set for myself for this year. I know it’s not January 1st, but hear me out—I’ve never really made goals for myself.

I’ve Never Had Real Goals
I’m lazy and hate the idea of New Year’s goals, so I’ve never made any. Don’t get me wrong, everyone has goals: getting a better job, buying your dream car and house, going on vacations, etc. While most people talk about their goals for the upcoming year, if I wanted something, I’d pursue it immediately—no goal planning or waiting on a specific date. Like everyone else, I would ignore this a couple of days or weeks later. This strategy, while stress-free and carefree, leads me nowhere. I’m writing this with the intention of making the internet my accountability buddy; the public shame of not trying will be enough to encourage me to keep going forward.
So why is Poximy finally making a goals list? I’d like to see how far I can get while a part of the internet sees how I try, fail, or succeed. The thought of failing and the internet seeing this is a bit scary, but I’m more scared of not trying hard enough.
Why These Goals
I have chosen goals that I’ve found interesting these past couple of months; some have more priority than others. These goals are easy yet hard to follow; I’ll do my best to achieve all of them.
Meditation
This is one of those things that looks boring but does so much good for you. Try fighting your Monkey Mind; make it shut up if you can. Hard, right? Having mental clarity is what I strive for.
Sleeping Early
A while ago, while on a YouTube binge, I found an interesting video. Ever since, I’ve wanted quality sleep. I wake up at 6 a.m. every day, and on some days, I’ll take sleep supplements. But I’ve been slacking on this one; getting back to it is my main goal.
Read 12 Books
Imagine going through life once again, acquiring knowledge and skills; sounds like a life hack to me. That’s what books are. People will dedicate a portion of their lives so others can experience it on paper.
I bought 12 books at the start of the year. I have read 4 and another 3 from the library. Not bad for someone who hasn’t read books in a long time. I’ll someday make a post about all the books I’ve read.
Starting a Business
While having a normal job is not bad, I’d rather be poor and chase my dreams than build the dreams of others. I don’t plan on being Elon Musk; I just want to see something I build flourish.
Digital Minimalism
Ah, the good old topic. Yeah, I’m a digital addict. While most people say they aren’t while having 4+ hours of screen time, spending my life in the digital world is not something I’m looking forward to.
